Republic is located in the heart of New Orleans' Warehouse district and serves as one of the city's best live music venues and bars. The venue itself is located in a turn-of-the-century building that's coated in a rich 150-year history.
The building was originally used to hold coffee that was to be exported via the Mississippi River. It was revived in 1984 as part of The World's Fair, before it fell in the hands of Oliver Stone, who used it as the set for his critically acclaimed film JFK. Since then, it has come to house countless Rock music legends such as The Strokes, Foo Fighters, and many more.
It has now been renovated and restored to serve as a classy, upscale venue that pays homage to the buildings long and varied history and caters to a diverse and interesting audience. Republic is about class, style, great music and live entertainment, and delicious cocktails.
The venue aims to provide people a evergreen alternative to the passing trends of the general nightlife scene, all while interpreting and reflecting the captivating history of the city of New Orleans.
Republic is owned by Matt Allemann, who has had a hand in the establishment, management, and reinvention of virtually every successful event and venue in the city. This is his latest project, and believe us when we say that you shouldn't skip it.
Whether you want to catch a live show, special event, or just kick back in a classy environment away from the mainstream, this is your prefect destination. Check out the upcoming events at Republic below, and come along to experience it for yourself.
