A study just released by researchers at the Mind Research Network, a non profit organization based out of Albuquerque New Mexico (they sound legit to me!) have found that playing tetris can boost your brain's grey matter.
The study compared the brains of girls aged 12 to 15 who played Tetris 30 minutes per day to those who didn't. The study found that the group who played the game improved their brain's efficiency and increased the thickness of the cortex. What does the cortex do? Glad you asked! The cortex plays a role in the planning of complex, co-ordinated movements like:
- Busting out dance moves
- Opening beer bottles
- Undoing bras
So to all you clubbers and DJs out there, forget the greasy breakfast and powerade, revitalize yourself with a 30 minute Tetris session the morning after the party and improve your life!
