I'd Hit It, my top 10 NYE picks - Author: Quentin Muhlert
by Quentin of Vancouver's UptownSound.ca - your source for music reviews and mp3s, keeping things fresh. It's always tough to pick what to do on New Year's Eve - travel, expenses, bitchy posse members ... there's always something that limits your choices, but what if you could hit 10 shows in one night, cost no issue? Here's what i'd hit...

I'd Hit It - My Top 10 NYE Parties

#10 My first stop on NYE would be in my home town of Vancouver, BC - the Vancouver NYE Party at Science World is going to be a real killer, for sure. I missed out on last years' party there, but ask anyone who was there and you'll know I was a damn fool. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice.

#9 From there I'd fly my private jet straight from to Toronto where I'd hit the Glamour and Glitz Toronto NYE Event, order myself and my crew some bottle service and do things up right. I managed to meet the host Russel Peters last time I was in Toronto and would be right stoked to see him again.

#8 I'd ride my gold-plated limousine out of Toronto to Montreal and drop into the Montreal New Years Party at Club 1234. I spent a lot of long nights at Club 1234 last time I was in Montreal, and it's definitely the best dance music venue in the city. 4 floors, an exclusive VIP room, a big lineup of Ferraris parked out front, and a line-up of gorgeous women waiting for you when you get in. The Montrealers really know how to party, and Club 1234 is probably the best place to witness that first hand.

#7 It’s a quick flight over to Detroit where I’d roll into the Best Detroit New Years Party over at Agave. The motor city is the birthplace of techno, and you'd best bet I'd be getting my electric circus on down at Agave. Chris Sheppard wishes he had my moves.

#6 Jumping into my stretched escalade, I'd head east to New York City and cause a ruckus at Marquee. Talk about classy - New Years in NYC never looked so good. I'd get my crew one of those platinum VIP tables and party proper with bottles Goose and champagne (included). NYC is the city that never sleeps and I'm not sleeping either, because my night will just be getting started.

#5 From there I'd jump a concorde flight to Miami and get my A-list on at the Fontainebleau Poolside Party. This party is bound to be great; it’s the hottest resort property in Miami, and a celebrity hotspot. Sign me up for the Oasis Pool Cabana any day of the week.

#4 Jumping onto my turbo segway, I'd hit pursuit mode and roll up to the 'Passport to the World' San Francisco NYE party in the Westin St. Francis. With three giant rooms themed after 'Asia', 'Europe', and 'USA' this is going to be an event to behold. San Francisco is another town that really knows how to party down serious. If you happen to be in the city over New Years, you really need to check this party out.

#3 Of course I'd be too close-by to miss thebest NYE party in San Diego at the Hilton La Jolla. Who's the headlining dj? None other than ATB.. oh yeah, you remember him. How could a party like that not be incredible? I'd break out the ironic glow-sticks and get straight down to dance floor business.

#2 Heading to LA in my Barbie Corvette convertible I'd crash through the front window of the Les Deux Cafe new years party. Hosted by some of the poshest restaurants in Los Angeles, I'd have to put on my tux for this one. If you're into a night of luxury in LA on new years, the Les Deux Cafe is certainly the ticket to hold. And Finally...

#1 Well it's really an after-party, but the Benny Benassi at Prive Las Vegas is going to go off like none other. For those who like to go hard, or called an early night the night before - the Benny Benassi show will be tough to miss. I managed to catch him during his visit to Vancouver and I've yet to see any club jump like that. What else would you expect from the guy who wrote "Satisfaction"?

Where would I head after all of that? Home to sleep for about a week and maybe go on a detox diet for the rest of my life.
