So I'm looking at my recently received credit card statement and on the last day of the billing cycle there is a charge for "Online Sports Svcs."...

I don't recall who that is so I called up the credit card company to get some more detail on what this charge is...The girl asks me if I normally gamble via the internet...which I never do...big oh oh...my card has been compromised.

It turns out there are 4 other charges just past the billing cycle as well that are fraudulent...

New card is on the way....

that sucks..that happened to a friend of mine recently..but the card was used to buy kids clothing online.. I look at my statements everyday online.

My corporate card was compromised just over a year ago...

And there's no way that I'm going to look every day....

and its no big deal...the CC company takes the hit for it...not me...it just takes time to deal with these folks to sort it out...

I havent had any problems yet *knocks on wood* my mastercard shows up right with my bmo banking info..and I check that everyday to see if I have got my EI and other stuff so I always take a peak and make sure theres nothing funky with my mastercard...my visa I havent checked in months..I never use it though..only the odd stupid place that doesnt accept mastercard.

no clue...just one of those things I guess...

Oddly...they weren't big purchases...little ones here and there. I guess they thought big purchases might have been more suspect...

I had that happen to each of my credit cards all within 2 weeks of each other.

And then my debit card a few months later.

Sucks.

Am curious. was the card Visa, MasterCard, AmEx? My AmEx card had a charge for tickets to a concert in another city. American Express took care of it immediately. A couple of years ago a Visa card had a Best Buy charge that wasn't mine. In that case, Visa was certified pain in the butt so am curious about yours.

Mastercard...they took care of it immediately...

My corporate card is a VISA...which took a couple weeks to sort out...

I've never had to deal with this type of thing on my Master Card, but i've heard they are not fun to deal with.

When my Amex was scamed they called me and took care of it right away.

I noticed the almost $2,000 in charges on my visa myself (a week after it happened) and called Visa. They gave me some trouble - saying my card was present for the purchases - but in the end they fixed it.
