Admit it, you do it all week long. Count the hours until friday night when you can kick it up and forget about the stresses of the world.

Finding friday is all about that…a group of guys who want to make you move and help you lose yourself in the rhythym of the tunes.

Finding friday has a groove that comes from an obvious love of music that spans decades and genres. From classic soul and motown…to queen and the police…to tool and incubus…to eminem and dave matthews…to mention a few. The two things their musical influences have at the heart is killer beats and monster melodies.

Vancouver’s north shore is where finding friday calls home, and it’s where steve thompson (lead singer) and austin short (lead guitar) started writing music in 2003. Rhythym guitarist steve cox joined them in 2005 and the band really started to take shape as the trio actively searched for new members and a new name. In 2006 bass player andrew marks joined the band they recorded a four song demo that immediately caught the attention of local producer rick colhoun, who could tell that the boys were onto something and wanted to help them refine and define their infectious sound.

In january of 2007, drummer tobi duquette joined the band. With the lineup complete the boys started doing live shows in vancouver, and in may of that year they recorded their first studio album. “live at the armoury” was recorded live at the legendary armoury studio in vancouver with the full line up and their brand new name… “finding friday”.

Finding friday continues to move the crowds at live shows around vancouver, and are working on new music they can’t wait for you to hear!
