Morgan Heritage are more than just a legendary reggae band. Hailing from Jamaica, they’re a revolution, a family, a force of nature, and a crew of five independent artists on a musical mission. Comprised of vocalist/keyboardist Una Morgan, vocalist Peter Morgan, keyboardist/vocalist Roy “Gramps” Morgan, rhythm guitarist “Lukes” Morgan and percussionist “Mr. Mojo” Morgan, this familial quintet of siblings, and children of the famed reggae artist Denroy Morgan, will be embarking on their Reggae Sunsplash Tour in support of their 10th recording effort, Mission In Progress. Produced by Morgan Heritage (with a few songs helmed by Shane Brown and Stephen McGregor, son of reggae singer Freddy McGregor), Mission In Progress captures the band bottling the power of their stage performance on disc and infusing their songs with a heavier dose of hip-hop. It lyrically finds the group continuing their quest to bolster their love for reggae music through romantic, street-wise and conscious songs built on slabs of spirituality.
Joining Morgan Heritage on their Reggae Sunsplash Tour are Jamaica’s Rootz Underground, so be sure not to miss what promises to be a spectacular and fun-filled evening when the tour splashes into Vancouver at Richard’s On Richards on June 27th.
