Whistler welcomes the rainbow when it plays host to one of the largest gay and lesbian ski events February 3-10, 2008.
GayWhistler’s WinterPRIDE – the evolution of Gay Ski Week is recognized as one of North America’s premier winter festivals. The week long celebration is more than just the world renowned skiing and snowboarding – including the legendary ski guiding program and après parties (and not to mention the Hot Tub Parties!)
But a huge array of non-ski events for those who have no interest on slapping on a board under their feet and go hurling down some 8,171 acres of pure skiing bliss! There are canopy tours, dog sledding, snowshoeing, snow mobiling, inner tubing, culinary classes, health + wellness classes, and educational lectures and seminars to keep you well entertained.
Naturally every epic festival needs amazing entertainment and GayWhistler’s WinterPRIDE is no exception. During the week long celebration there is a Comedy Show, the WinterPRIDE Banquet – amazing sit down dinner with fantastic entertainment (last year had special guest appearance of Cirque du Soliel) and of course amble amounts of dancing! Most notably are the Village BOTTOM T-Dance, Mountain TOP and Snow Ball dance ‘till Dawn with world class DJ’s spinning a snow storm of epic proportions.
