Carmen Electra's exotic looks, piercing blue eyes and extraordinary personality have made her one Hollywood's brightest new stars. She catapulted to fame with a career in music and then segued into a promising career in television as the co-host of MTV's Singled Out and as one of the stars of the internationally syndicated series Baywatch. This January, Carmen will debut in the WB drama Hyperion Bay as Sarah Hicks, the provocative daughter of a powerful computer mogul who will become the professional rival to the show's lead character.
A Cincinnati native, Electra began performing at an early age when she attended the prestigious School for Creative and Performing Arts. After moving out to Los Angeles, she was signed to an exclusive solo recording contract with Paisley Park/Warner Brothers Records, which released her self-titled debut album, Carmen Electra, in 1992. The record generated the hits "Go Go Dancer" and "Get On Up."
It was on television that Electra garnered immense media attention -- first with her hosting duties on MTV's popular series Singled Out, and later with her starring role as "Lani Mackensie" on Baywatch. Although she still appears on Baywatch internationally and in syndication, Electra opted to leave the show after one year to pursue her own network series.
Electra recently completed Sony's Mating Habits Of The Earthbound Human, a romantic comedy in which she starred in the lead role opposite Mackenzie Astin and David Hyde Pierce. Electra's other film roles include the upcoming independent feature Starf*cker a scathing comedy co-starring Loren Dean and Paramount's Goodburger.
Electra currently resides in Los Angeles She plans on getting back onto the recording studio to finish her second album. While not working in film, television or on music, the ex-ballerina enjoys cardio hip-hop and jazz classes.
