As you all know, we (Hedley) did our cd release at the Commodore in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago. We got presented with our gold records and had a great evening. My close friends, Sarah and Micah Reid (Micah takes all of Hedleys local pictures) had a great time with us and left the festivities for home at around 1:30 am. Sarah was driving the car when there was mechanical failure (Alcohol was NOT a factor) and they hit a pole coming off the Georgia Viaduct. You might have seen the accidents aftermath on Global news the next day. Both Sarah and Micah received massive head injuries as well as a list of others that goes on and on. Sarah is still in a coma right now and Micah is beginning rehab right away, still being unable to walk unassisted. Thankfully, both are still alive. We are doing the benefit (with our good friends Faber) to help cover the costs of their vehicle, rent, etc... Sarah and Micah just got married and purchased their first house, of which they are obviously not able to take possession and are also in danger of losing their substantial deposit, basically their life savings. The benefit will take place at the Buffalo club on Saturday, October 15th. Faber will take the stage at 8:30, Hedley will perform at 9:30. Ticket price is $10, all of which goes in trust to Sarah and Micah. Donations will also be accepted inside. The crew, bands and bar are all donating their time so there will be NO guest list! Please dig deep to help our good friends, they are good people who don't deserve this tragedy. Come early, CFOX will be announcing the show so it will be very busy. Also, if you would like to send donations in the mail, a post office box is being set up right now and we will only be accepting money orders, made out to Micah Reid.
