Play-n-Skillz

Grammy Award winning producers and rap duo Play N Skillz consist of brothers, Juan "Play" and Oscar "Skillz" Salinas who hail from Irving, Texas. Play N Skillz grew up in a Colombian family with two brothers, Erika and Jheison, living in a hispanic neighborhood in Irving, Texas. They began their career in music as DJ's and quickly discovered their talent for making beats.
They started DJing and gaining a name at Dallas clubs. After creating a makeshift recording studio in their mother's cramped two-bedroom apartment, Play ditched his college plans and rented out a space with his brother with plans to build a professional studio and soon, their company, Prime Time Productions was born. PTP was originated during their highschool years; this was a failed attempt at creating a rap group.
They released 3 albums before getting their major deal with Universal Records. From Texas to Da World Vol. I, The Best of Lil Flip and Play n Skillz, and The Album Before the Album After a chance meeting with Texas based rapper Lil' Flip – Play N Skillz produced 12 tracks on his Multi-Platinum album U Gotta Feel Me and scored a publishing deal with EMI Publishing. Soon after they produced and co-wrote "Ridin" for Chamillionaire, which earned them a GRAMMY Award and helped launch them as one of the hottest and most sought after producers in the music industry.
In summer of 2007 they produced two hit singles "So Krispy" for Kia Shine and "Secret Admirer" for Pitbull. Play N Skillz have recently launched their own record label, G4 Recordz. G4 is primed to become the next big label to take over the music industry having signed R&B crooner Reyez, rapper Tum Tum, Hip Hop's favorite rock band Big Red Rooster, and up and coming rapper Lumba.
They are known best for working with Swishahouse artists, as well as Reggaeton artist Don Omar, Pitbull, and Hip Hop artists Lil' Flip, 50 Cent, Three Six Mafia, Blast, Chamillionaire, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Adina Howard, Phar East, Bun B of UGK, Young Noble, Petey Pablo, Lil Jon, Mannie Fresh, Young Chris, Paul Wall, Big Tuck, Frankie J, Akon, Gemini, and others.
