DJ Irene

When one thinks of Los Angeles, they tend to think of fame, fortune, Hollywood and the movie industry, but LA is much more than that, it is home to some of the hottest clubs, nightlife and most influential people in the music industry today. Which leads us to the energetic, fireball DJ Irene! For more than a decade now, DJ Irene has played a pivotal part on the LA club scene starting and sporting spinning trends as well as making name for herself in this male dominated industry.

While currently holding one of the longest running residencies on the LA club circuit with her nine-year gig at Circus Disco, Irene can also be seen weekly at the legendary, Arena as well as Robbie's. Each club is able to witness this compelling and talented DJ work her magic and make the audience sweat night after night. "Seeing Irene work in her environment is as fun to watch as it is to dance to. She plays some of the most hard, energetic and driving house music that you can find, and "she fuses every essence of her soul with each single beat that leaves her needles" compliments DMA (Dance Music Authority Magazine). When asked about being a DJ, Irene adds, I like everything. People are actually my favorite, so I play for the people. Whatever their energy is, I vibe off that and then they vibe off my energy. Maybe that's why I'm so energetic!"

Irene began spinning in 1984 while attending college for commercial photography. It was when she met photo partner, Henry De Lapena that everything changed. Henry was able to guide Irene into a hobby that would soon become a career. Throughout the years, Irene would practice for hours, spin at local parties, spend countless weekends at clubs watching and listening to her favorite DJ's just to help master her craft.

Years later, this influential lady delivers her second CD release of continuously blended dance floor anthems. Mixed lived at the legendary Arena, Hard House Live offers 60 minutes of the hottest house music around with the live ambiance of the club intertwined with the music.

After a decade in the business, a Billboard reporting spot, a radio mix gig, a successful club run And two mix CD's, Irene has begun experimenting with remixing and producing. On the production/remixing end, Irene has just finished up "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" by Sonic Dream Collective, "Ole" by Kahuna with Chris Cox and "You Gotta Pay Me" with Rudy Rude Dog. Another feather in the cap of miss Irene is when Disney included her mix of "Someday" by Donna Summer from Beauty & The Beast on the Disney Mouse House Remix compilation. Look for two new mix compilations and more trend setting remixes from this fierce DJ. The fact is, DJ Irene has only just begun!

Richard Vission

Richard Humpty Vission is set to shatter the sound barrier once again with his 8th mix CD, Big Floor Funk, a 60 minute continuous mix representing Vissions latest reinvention of his signature progressive funk and bangin house style. This release is an enhanced CD with the video for its first single, Vission's "Never Let Me Down." RHV compiled over 30 tracks including four original productions along with The Crystal Methods Born Too Slow, DJ Crazes Soul Shine, and the chunky energy of the Andrea Doria club anthem Bucci Bag (RHV Remix).

With nearly 20 years of music experience, Vission got his start in Los Angeles where he'd cut class to go spin records. DJ culture was exploding in Los Angeles in the early 80s when there were no superstar DJs to follow, just two turntables and a mixer. They spent hours perfecting their mixes, buying records, and making mixtapes. Those hours of practicing paid off. Vission's music was so bumping when he and his friends starting throwing house parties { literally, in someone's backyard { they'd charge $3 a head and 2,000 kids would show up. Yes, the police noticed, as well as local club promoters who wanted access to those crowds, booking the DJ responsible for them. His club success was a springboard for his first radio show, broadcast live from the club where he was playing. Vission was hooked: he knew radio was one place he definitely wanted to be. He got the opportunity to answer phones for free at POWER 106, and worked his way up for two years, building his street credibility at local events, always a mixtape ready in his pocket, until the chance came: They didn't have a DJ to mix so they played my tape. More than 100 people called in asking, Who was that mixing?!? The response opened the door to hosting and mixing Power 106's POWER TOOLS - now the longest running underground mix show in America - earning Vission the 2003 DanceStar Award for "Best Radio DJ".

In 91, he got into the studio with "a couple of his boys," and calling themselves The Movement they were soon moving dancefloors worldwide with their international gold single, "Jump." Suddenly Vission was touring the world like a rock star, and its been pretty much nonstop ever since. From DJing two seasons of MTV's "The Blame Game" to co-founding Aqua Boogie Records, Vission has gone on to remix everyone from Madonna, Destinys Child, Nelly Furtado, Filter to Felix da Housecat. Not to mention landing over thirty Top 10 hits on Billboard's Dance Music Chart (19 of them hitting the number one slot) and earning him a Grammy Remixer of The Year nomination. His DJ mix compilations have made him one of the best selling American DJs with Soundscans exceeding 500,000 units, numbers usually unheard of in electronic music, much less DJ mix compilations.

Vission is currently working on his artist album, as well as with Latin sensation Paulina Rubio, whose hit Dont Say Goodbye blew away the charts in 2003. Vission wrote and produced the song Dame Tu Amor (Show Me Some Love), and is working on an additional two cuts for Paulinas new album, due out in 2004. Despite this heavy production schedule, Vission finds the time to play at more than 80 shows a year, from private birthday parties for Madonna to parties for 35,000 in the LA Coliseum to performing at the Grammys for over 20 million viewers. His non-stop touring schedule will kick off again in 2004, with more than 60 dates in North America in support of Big Floor Funk.
