LOS ANGELES –(IMP Entertainment, Profiles Group PR)– A red carpet event will follow this years ESPY Awards hosted by New York Giants premiere linebacker Antonio Pierce and teammates. The New York Giants have been nominated for a total of 6 awards: Best Upset (Giants-Patriots), Best Team, Best Game (Super Bowl XLII), Best Play (David Tyree's Catch), Best Coach-Manager (Tom Coughlin), and Best NFL Player (Eli Manning) . This event will feature guest appearances by several elite althetes from all aspects of sports entertainment and celebrity guests and more.
Antonio Pierce - The New York Giants signed Antonio in 2005 to start at inside linebacker. He became the captain of the defence, and in 13 games, Pierce notched 100 tackles, 80 of them solo, two interceptions and one forced fumble returned for a touchdown. His 2005 season ended early as he suffered a leg injury, against the Philadelphia Eagles, and missed the final three regular season games and the Giants' only postseason game, a 23-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Pierce recorded a career-high 160 tackles (109 solo), a sack, an interception, and defended 8 passes. Pierce was named as a first alternate for the Pro Bowl in 2007.
The ESPY Awards is an annual sports awards event created and broadcast by ESPN. The award is fully styled as Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, for individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given ceremony similarly-styled Grammys (for music), Emmys (for television), and Academy Awards (for film).
