Experience house music in all its flavors. On February 29th, 2008, the percussionist, the diva, and the dj combine to bring a live house music experience to the Snap Contemporary Art Gallery. Cocktails commence at 9pm.The show begins at 10. It will be a night when music, dance, and art will flourish.


The percussionist, Nick Apivor, has immersed himself in a variety of Latin musical styles performing and recording with Juno nominated Rumba Calzada, Arche Brazil, the John Gilliat Nuevo Flamenco Group, and Corcovado, to name a few. Additionally, he has recorded with local group Mimosa, and is a familiar on the R&B scene, playing with Billy Dixon's Soul Train Express, Riley Inge, and Sibel Thrasher.


Patricia Raye, the diva, has piloted the project Luscious Moov to this opening engagement. Musically she has participated in a variety of recording projects, performs as a soloist for the VOC Soul Gospel Choir, and appears as a Solid Gold Sister of Soul with Billy Dixon's Soul Train Express. She brings to the mix a dynamic combination of jazz, soul gospel, and R&B.


The dj, Luis Machuca, over the past decade has created a recognizable sound that distills his musical roots in Afro, Latin, soul, disco & funk. His production company Friskybeats has produced events with such celebrated names as Julius Papp, Marques Wyatt, Franck Rogers, Charles Spencer, Miguel Migs, and The Jungle Brothers to name a few.
