The Gecko Club is throwing a Latin party, complete with a tapas buffet and a 14 piece "salsa" band. "Orquesta BC Salsa" (The BC Salsa Orchestra, note for Anglophones), while considered the best salsa band in Vancouver, they also play a huge range of Latin Party music. This band fills the room, and the stage, for a crowd that raises their glasses more than they competitively dance. A 14 piece band playing Latin party music live is irresistible for the tipsy fun dancing of New Years Eve. The serious salsa dancing is earlier in the night. The drinking, eating and other festivities are after 9:00 till next year. Tapas buffet prepared in a traditional Latin fashion and a Glass of Bubbly to toast the New Year in are included in the cost of the ticket.

Band Bio
It's been more than 13 years now and they're still going strong! Orquesta BC Salsa is formed of 14 talented and diverse musicians from different places of Latin America and the world; musicians from El Salvador, Canada, Guatemala, Venezuela, Hong Kong, and Nicaragua to name a few. They all bring their experience and style to make one good solid sound. Orquesta BC Salsa has gained the reputation of the best Latin band in Western Canada, as it's brought the powerful impact of their full sound, their soothing sexy vocals, animated choreography and percussion, punchy horns and authentic arrangements. BC Salsa makes full use of the gamut of Latin music at their live shows as in their first two cd's "Fiesta Caliente" and "Pachanga Loca", they emphasize rhythmic diversity and take a new approach to dance music; within a single set and sometimes a single song the band will switch styles between old school and new school Latin, they might be playing a Danzon that might segue to a Salsa or Reggaeton, Cumbia or even Pop; Merengue, Bachata and even Cha cha cha are always in hand to keep you on the dance floor!
2005 and beyond looks very promising, with the addition of fresh talent and a new ideas the band will be playing more than ever! See you soon... "Que que? Yo se que te gusta BC Salsa"
