You've heard lots of people rave about this breathtaking scenic rainforest hike but you just haven't had anyone to go with.... until now! Join Meet Market Adventures and other single outdoor enthusiasts, for a jaw dropping, breathtaking hike up the Chief in Squamish. The Stawamus Chief is a world class climbing and trail hiking location, with 25,000 climbers visiting every summer season to meet up and climb the front face of the granite rock that boasts 108 different routes. It is one of the most well-known and popular hiking trails in BC and consists of three summit peaks, all over 600m high.

We will be led by experienced guides who will point out various plant and animal species indigenous to this area and we may even be fortunate enough to spot a Peregrine Falcon – so you will want to have your camera handy! Once we reach the top, we’ll break for lunch surrounded by the amazing views of the Howe Sound Sea-to-Sky corridor, the ocean-faced peninsula and the beauty of the majestic Squamish "Mother Wind" mountain range.

After drinking in these sights and sounds we will hike back down to our starting point and head to a nearby “watering hole” where we’ll congregate to share our thoughts, pictures and experiences from the day.

This is an intermediate to advance hike. The hike is consistently steep for 610 meters so you must be in good health to accomplish it. * Not dangerous, but it is high.

You will need:

* Small pack for layered clothing & food & water

* Light Rain gear (just in case)

* Hiking shoes with stable ankle support

* 1-2 liters of water

* Fruit, small lunch (nothing that will go bad with time in the heat)

* Small first aid kit if you have one

* Sunscreen/hat

* Hiking poles if you choose (really helpful downhill)

* Don't forget your camera for these awesome views!

* This is a rain or shine event but extreme weather conditions may cause cancellations.

* Carpooling is Available

* When you purchase an event online or by phone, your name will be on a Guest List at the door and you will receive a confirmation by phone from MMA the week of the event.
