Winner of CTV’s “So You Think you Can Dance Canada”
A performance act of seductive rock, with riveting dance routines choreographed by Wynn Holmes & Nico.
Pinup Saints premiered June 2005 at Montreal’s Club 1234. Mabel, an established professional dancer herself, took to the stage along with Nico and some of the city’s hottest female and male dancers. The first shows were filled with provocative and highly erotic dance numbers, set to the music of some of the sexiest songs of all time. Shocked by the sexual nature of this beast, some dancers quit, while many simply refused to audition. Fortunately, other amazing artists with a desire to share their sensual side and their uninhibited lifestyle soon came onboard.
It became clear very early on that, in order to be truly innovative, Pinup Saints would need original music. Raul Campued, Mabel’s and Fede’s favorite Montreal indie music producer, joined the circus with the mandate to create Pinup Saints-style re-makes of selected songs. However, it didn’t take long for Raul to start composing original tracks, much inspired by his years as Mabel’s former lover. He established the signature Pinup Saints sound with his romantically raunchy lyrics and his unique dirty fusion of rock, pop and electronica influences, designed to make people move.
