NATURAL PROGRESSION EVENTS presents HOME @ The Baltic Room JULY 10TH and every Second Thursday of the month:)
WELCOME HOME!!!
NAHA is a DJ that defies catogorization she is also one of the most respected DJ's in Seattle and it's our pleasure to welcome her HOME!! NAHA Seattle, WA || Naha Army
http://www.myspace.com/NAHAarmy
For over a decade NAHA has been tearing up dancefloors across the country with her signature hardcore sound and punk rock style. In 2007 she achieved #33 on the international list of top 100 female djs, and finished up another busy year with a month long tour of India. Always unconventional she has stayed away from the mainstream and sought out music which is anything but ordinary, and mixes between the bassiest of genres effortlessly. Her production debut "Wreck Everything" was released by Seattle Megalabel Sub Pop, and was followed up by a song on the soundtrack of the film "Gak".
In Seattle she has held dozens of residencies, hosted online radio shows and performed with bands Exorcismo and Black Pill Book. Since the release of her mix tape "Some Like It Hard" in 2000 and the subsequent cds "Bring it to the Table" and "The Art of Fighting Without Fighting" she has carried the flag for hardcore and breakcore in the NW. Add the elements of rap, grime, punk, ragga, ghettotech and electro and you've got an amalgamation of sounds that has inspired an army.
TRONA Seattle, WA || Trona Soundsystem || System Recordings
http://www.tronamusic.com
Trona is known for his bass-heavy, nu-skool break beat selections. In 2003, Trona was deemed the “future of domestic break beat” by Mixer magazine, and went on to gain additional notoriety for his edgy and progressive productions. The early part of Trona’s career found him remixing tracks for Icelandic pop group Gus Gus and collaborating with artists like Cirrus. His initial releases, “Dirty Pretty Picture” and “Dangerous” went to the top of International DJ charts and since then, he has shared stages with broken beat colleagues including Uberzone, General Midi, Meat Katie, The Bassbin Twins, Hyper, etc. In addition to that, Crystal Method, an early influence for Trona, featured him as a guest on their Indie 103 “Community Service” radio show. You might also recognize Trona’s tracks from having appeared on TV, and blockbuster game titles for Xbox, Playstation, and Gamecube.
’Sound System’ is Trona’s debut artist album with System Recordings and has a classic feel that has been compared to the likes of The Prodigy, Crystal Method, and Chemical Brothers. Tracks like “Jaded Love” and “Lights Go Out” are smooth and synthy with a Dirty Vegas-esque quality. “Don’t Remember” is another stand out single with an underground feel, and funky, thought-provoking lyrics. ’Sound System’ will be hitting the streets on February 26, 2008
