Spend New Year's aboard the
Battleship New Jersey
End 2009 with a bang! The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial will once again open her decks for guests to enjoy the best view of the midnight fireworks over the Delaware River to welcome in New Year. There will be music, prizes, food and bar service and the best view of the fireworks -- the decks of our nation's most decorated battleship.
The Battleship New Jersey will be opening at 10:00 pm to allow guests access to the forecastle (forward deck) and portside decks. Music, prizes, food and bar service (refreshments available for purchase) will be featured.
Ticket price is $8 per person
The NJ Transit Riverline trains will be running on extended service, to allow visitors to take the train directly to the ship. Visitors are reminded that no chairs or strollers are allowed aboard the ship. New Years Eve Festivities on the Forecastle tickets do not include a tour of the ship.
Berthed on the Camden Waterfront across the Delaware River from Center City Philadelphia, the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial is a non-profit historic ship museum that offers guided and self-guided tours daily. Experience the City at Sea Guided Tour, where guests can explore never-before-seen areas such as the TV Studio and Control Room, the Machine Shops, the Post Office, Medical and Dental facilities and more. Also available is the General Quarters Audio Tour, a self-guided tour that offers a headset and feature narration of the tour, former crewmembers accounts of life aboard the Big J and sound effects. The Battleship New Jersey allows visitors a variety of ways to experience the ship, including overnight encampments for youth groups and families, special group and student tours and event rentals with a full catering menu.
