Katra is a new Moroccan themed lounge, is located at 217 Bowery in one of Manhattan's foremost up and coming neighborhoods. Katra's, contemporary design is accentuated by traditional Middle Eastern/Moroccan decor. The interior, designed by Lesley Zamor (Taj Lounge, Ixte). incorporates one of a kind listing fixtures and furnishings all imported from Morocco. Starting with the oversized hand-crafted vases to the striking lighting to the wall mounted rugs assembled by Berber artisans in the Atlas Mountains. each piece bas been hand chosen to invoke a sumptuous and we1lcoming surrounding. The seating consists of authentic "Matias" fabric on hand carved wooden platforms accented with hand woven pillows. The intimacy is augmented by the semi private booths divided by impressive Moroccan star wood screens.
