New York DJ duo brings their renegade sound wave to Miami with the GO COMMANDO Tour.


Over the past two years Dave Pianka and Josh Houtkin (DJing as Dave P and JDH, respectively) have brought some of the hippest musical acts to their weekly New York City dance party FIXED. Being based in New York City allows these DJs and tastemakers to select from some of the hottest new artist, some of which they themselves helped break into the US market. Although the Internet has made music much more globally accessible, it sometimes still takes the intuitive ear of a talented DJ to guide their open-minded audience in the direction of the best new music available. JDH and DAVE P are champions of said task, and they have the track record to prove so. Having established undeniable connections with musicians, DJs, and producers alike, as well as dabbling in production work themselves with remixes for artists such as Klaxons and Bloc Party, these two are breaking out. In March of this year they released a new mixed CD on Defend Music called ‘GO COMMANDO with JDH and DAVE P’. The track listing reads like a who’s who of the bubbling techno/disco/indie driven dance scene of the present. Some of the artists on the CD are easily recognizable, whilst others are the favorites of the very near future.



In support of their release, this duo is hitting the road on a tour of nightclubs and hot spots. Their stop in Miami at The Pawn Shop Lounge will merge with POPLIFE’s newly developed weekly experience DIRTY DISCO. Having redirected their programming recently, the Pawn Shop Lounge is gaining ground in booking the most relevant acts and DJs with the support of event organizers, POPLIFE, the same team that has managed to expand the local music scene with their signature Saturday party, as well as many live acts and special events.



Dirty Disco will be welcoming the Go Commando Tour with JDH and DAVE P on Saturday, July 28th at 10pm. They will be sharing time behind the decks with Dirty Disco and POPLIFE resident DJs Matt Cash, Induce and Contra.
