NEW YEARS EAST this year brings you some of the hottest DJs and party animals from London to New York and back again. Heading proceedings is TIM SWEENEY (DFA / BEATS IN SPACE) who has just mixed the latest DFA compilation and hosts the hugely popular NYC radio show BEATS IN SPACE. On the night he will be serving up his distinctive mix of disco, house, electro, new wave, post punk and all things DFA related. His set is being recorded for prosperity too (so watch out for the 93NYE set on his Beats In Space show in 2007).
Also for your dancing pleasure DC RECORDINGS' PADDED CELL (NEIL BEATNIK) with the explosive sounds of sci-fi disco and dubby post-punk set to blow the main hall out into hyper-space. And there is more!
In the Pink Bar - London based record label TINY STICKS has been hailed as one of the most interesting UK labels to emerge in years, and head honcho MOCK & TOOF will be taking care of the Pink Bar on the night supplying their remixes and edits of Hot Chip, Lo-Fi Fink, Madonna and Death From Above 1979.
Providing the indie & party beats on the night will be London's very own party poppers PEOPLE ARE GERMS. Their DJ schedule and parties have seen them play along side the likes of Bloc Party, The Rakes, Har Mar Superstar, Vincent Vincent & The Villians, The Young Knives, Plan B, Test Icicles, Uffie and a whole lot more. They will be spinning indie tracks from the past, present and future! And not forgetting 93s very own SEVEN SHADES OF SH*T, who pop up throughout the night with a right Kick In The Ears! A diverse party mix of electro, northern soul, mash-ups, indie classics oldies, classic 80s and treasures to keep an ear out for.
