KRIS MENACE
THURSDAY OCTOBER 9TH @ HABITAT LIVING SOUND
Pete Tong, Erol Alkan, Boys Noize and Laurent Garnier are all massive fans. Primal Scream cohort and ex Sabre Jagz Kooner or Felix da Housecat wants to work with him. His remixography includes Depeche Mode, LCD Soundsystem, Royksopp, Moby, Underworld, Air, or Robbie Williams.
Welcome to the world of Kris Menace, a man who is fast becoming known as one of the most respected producers and remixer’s on the planet.
Famed for his Italo disco-inspired tracks, Menace’s debut single ‘Discopolis’ became one of the biggest dance tunes of 2005, a bona fide Ibiza anthem that got picked up by Defected Records and helped lay the groundwork for Kris to become one of the hottest names in the scene.
Kris Menace is the owner of the house label "Work It Baby" where he nurtured artists such as Patrick Alavi, Lifelike, Fred Falke, Serge Santiago and others.
Menace's debut single, Discopolis was released on Vulture Music in 2005 and was one of the most anticipated house tracks and an Ibiza anthem within the same year. Originally a release for his label "Work it Baby", Discopolis was mainly produced and finished by Menace in his studio after Lifelike originally no longer wanted to be associated with the song. Discopolis was later picked up by Defected Records and re-released with various remixes and a video directed by Seb Janiak.
Menace later formed the label "Compuphonic" and continued to release singles under its imprint, such as Voyage, Steamroller and Jupiter. The latter became one of the most downloaded tracks in 2006 on the Electronic Music Download Platform "Beatport". He started DJing with his friend Alan Braxe in 2006 and together they released the single Lumberjack in June 2007 on Vulture Music.
Kris Menace also became a highly in demand remixer, contributing remixes for Robbie Williams (EMI), LCD Soundsystem (DFA), AIR (Virgin), Felix da Housecat (Pias/Wall of Sound), The Presets (Modular), Roisin Murphy (Moloko/EMI), Tracey Thorn (Virgin), Princess Superstar, Martin Solveig, and The Infadels (Wall of Sound).
