Back before the internet... before the rave scene gripped North America.... before Dj Magazine's poll charts dictated who would be on tour in your area... before podcasts and blogs... when the snow was deep and dj's played vinyl and A&R reps picked through demos with diligence to determine what works justified the cost and effort to cut a 12" - roughly 5 times the cost of a cd....
When American producers were not on the charts or radars of the burgeoning progressive and trance domination of the world....
There was Noel Sanger... with early releases on progressive house staples such as Limbo, working and committed to what was at the time considered progressive trance... strong melody - but always with a structure and vision that keep it deeply emotional without being corny... catchy without being novelty... credible without being up it's own ass. Noel has been recognized by the big boys, hell - he has been sought out to put the polishing touches on their works, to warm up their shows.... even to autograph their records - but really.. none of that's important, because none of that is what has sustained him. He eats, sleeps and breathes this music - he is nothing short of inspired.
This is as close to the route of trance in North America as one can get.... and we are happy to host Noel's return to Calgary, nearly ten years on from when I brought him first.
