    Biography
Dusty Kid (aka Paolo Alberto Lodde) was born in the first half of the decade that sanctioned the triumphant rise and the immediate fall of those phenomena counterigned by some ephemeral definitions like brokeristic-financial Yuppism, Reganism-Tatcherism and New Romantic dandyism, in other words in the middle of the 80s, whose soundtrack was described by the distinctive but passing melodies of the Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Bronsky Beat and Wham!. As a new enfant prodige if there were one he immediately showed his natural attitude for the variegated music world. At 10, after just one year of private lessons of the basic notions of piano and violin, he was admitted directly to the 6° year of the piano course in the conservatory of his native city. Of course, he also passed the entrance exam with the maximum points in a ranking of more than 300 candidates. Following the accademic experience, his tasks moved gradually from the austere classical world to the the electronic system, free from binds and traditional old-fashioned diktats. Dusty Kid started to manipulate synthesizers, samplers and sequencers, and he realized that one passion was growing and growing: the ardor for arranging and producing his own compoitions. After his first experiments at home, at the tender age of 17 years, he already was noticed by the producers Marascia and Kortezman, and thanks to them his first single I Found a Reason was released in the UK through Lowered Recordings, the label of guys like Jules Spinner, Cloud 9, C-Mos and Denis The Menace & Jerry Ropero, just to name few. Shortly Paolo Alberto started to work in many clubs, and just during one of those avant-gard electro nights, he attracted the attention of the famous Italian DJ and producer Stefano Noferini. Thank to his intuition, he immediately believed in Paolos capabilities, and so he didnt hesitate to open wide the doors of his record company, proposing a profitable collaboration. The first official single under the aegis of the pseudonym Dusty Kid (The Summer of Love) was the result of this unpredictable and happy meeting, and the single reached even the Top ten of the Italian house chart (…8). One thing led to another and quality grew parallely: Dusty Kid frequently alternated by then his career of producer to the one of remixer, applying sensitivity, experience and talent to the songs of various artists like Olive, Mutiny UK, Robbie Rivera, The Lovers. Among his most recent productions, we must stress the importance of those released under the name of Keyem (You Should Make Me Feel), Playmate (Scandal & Pornography), Ray (Why Do I Need Love) and, collaborating with Marascia, Paolo Alberto gave his irreplaceable contribution to the electro version of Get into the Game, the follow-up of the successful tribal-house Marascias single Shake it. In 2005, in sinergy with the DJ Andrea Ferlin, Paolo created a new production team called Duoteque focused into the electro-minimal-oriented sound. The tracks of the team, released through the German Boxer Recordings, were immediately included in the DJ sets of some of the most important names, like Richie Hawtin, Tiefschwarz, Ricardo Villalobos, Domenic Eulberg, Sven Vath and Magda. Thanks to this, the amazing feedbacks, already received among the media and the insiders, were simply destined to be amplified. And during the same year, the duo released a limited one-side vinyl entitled Bibis Ghosts (Let them Go) on FreaknChic records. On the Motivo brand, Paolo conceived the New Ordinament EP under the name Dusty Little Kid Presents New Ordinament (2005). The four tracks of the record are characterized by a very particular sound that mixes the influences of some of the most prestigious European artists of the electronic music with a very good taste and sensitivity, perfectly accorded to the present ages: the echoes of artists like Kraftewerk, Depeche Mode, Moroder and Yazoo are present under a constant and respectable new elaboration. The result of clear limpidness which appears since the first listening of this amazing sequence of tracks is originated by the wise use of the analogic synths of those years Dusty Kid seems to be very confident with from the first years of his life. Desyn Masiello, deejay whose dazzling future is stated as a fact, included in the prestigious compilation Balance (n. 008) both Jerry Calà and Dusty Kid Adventure, two songs of the EP, declaring that way his personal admiration for the brilliant work of Dusty Kid. Jerry Bouthier, on the other hand, blowed his own trumpet for this Dusty Kid project, giving the maximum point in the celebrated Buzz Chart. Motivo has already annouced the second chapter of the New Ordinament EPs Souvenirs DEnfance (Play me if you Dare) (t.b.c.), which is announced to be the natural evolution of this real saga of electro-disco-house. And we can not forget to mention the recent work by Paolo Alberto on Walking away by The Egg (released in Italy thriugh Motivo). From a Röyksopp style track with cold nordic vocals and soft electro mood, the new Dusty Kid Ga-Ga versions transform the song in a pumping and vibrating track. The versions honor the mastery of the 80s production directly quoted in the remixes title, giving also a brand new light by means of the great magistral architecture of sounds which incomparably melts synths and rhythm. This is the trademark which witnesses the talent of an artist who will surely amaze us with his genuine talent. Currently Dusty Kid is involved in writing the Duoteque album, whose release, anticipated by 2 forthcoming mini EPs, is foreseen in November 2006.
