Vancouver, BC – March 14, 2013 - Uncovered is an event designed to create awareness for new and upcoming artists in Vancouver, while raising funds for the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center. The event will be held at The Chinatown Experiment, a place for entrepreneurs to exhibit their craft and contribute to the DTES.
Our goal is to sell all the pieces during the day until the 700 sq. ft. space is empty. Artwork will be available for sale from 12 pm to 7 pm, with prices ranging from $100 - $250. Once accomplished, we will be hosting an after party featuring local musical talent from 8 pm – 11 pm. A small fee of $5 will be charged at the door to help raise funds for the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center. In order to generate funds for emerging artists 70% of profits will go to the artists directly.
This event is designed to feed the creative cycle of emerging artists and provide funds for Women of the DTES. We believe that art can create new beginnings, not only for the artists but also for the DTES community. We hope that you will join us, and help bring attention to our cause.
