Whether you're hearing them at New York City's intimate club Rockwood Music Hall, or on stage in front of 30,000 people at the Xerox International Jazz Festival, the music of Roses and Revolutions stays grounded in sensitive songwriting and unique musicianship. Roses & Revolutions (formerly Tinted Image) was formed by Alyssa Rose Coco and Matt Merritt when the two musicians met up to write together after Alyssa's publicity from appearing on season 7 of American Idol. It only took one rehearsal for the two to realize that the combination was the one they both had been looking for.
Skipping the years of playing basements, small clubs, and coffee houses that most rookie bands have to battle through, Roses & Revolutions was fortunate enough to jump right into playing with national artists, which has allowed their music to spread at a much faster rate. Alyssa and Matt played their first show together opening for Little Feat and from there, more opportunities came in, and the group found themselves supporting artists like O.A.R, Ingrid Michaelson, Smash Mouth, Jonny Lang, G Love & Special Sauce, Sheryl Crow, Rusted Root, Tim Reynolds, Ryan Star, Robert Randolph, Sonny Landreth, Javier Colon, Average White Band, and more.
Always writing, R&R recently had their music heavily licensed on networks like MTV, Showtime, Vh1, E!, Oxygen, & Discovery. They also performed a 30 minute concert on WXXI's newest season of OnStage. Look for Roses & Revolutions debut EP "Earth and Everything" which will be released in October 2012. Listen for their music which is already being placed in national TV shows, or catch them at one of their many live performances.
