Razorblade Dolls
In late 2006 The Razorblade Dolls were developed as a social network recording project originally with no intentions of becoming the five year success that it is today, opening for acts such as Front Line Assembly, The Genitorturers, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, RevCo, Atari Teenage Riot, Michael Graves, Ghoultown, Combichrist, Bozo Porno Circus, Wednesday 13, and Hanzel Und Gretyl. The band gained attention locally early on from word of mouth about their live shows which have included mutilation with barbwire, whips and chains, fire breathers, eating insects, chainsaws taken to pig and horse heads, and recreating scenes from horror films.
These images grew so popular that the first single released contained a pig head on the front of the artwork and shirts were made in the same nature. In 2008 The Razorblade Dolls released their first self titled debut album. Today it is a key product still sold both digitally and at venues. The album itself was produced by Chris Telkes of Nocturne fame and contained artwork by Count Lyle of Ghoultown. Telkes would later join the band as a guitarist.
The Razorblade Dolls have made it priority to focus on performing live shows as opposed to releasing music. New material is released into the set slowly as a marketing strategy that insures what is being written will be in demand when released as a collective whole. Shows have been performed in every key city in Texas along with cities in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. In 2010 the band performed it's 100th show and celebrated its four year anniversery.
