Often called by critics as one of the greatest minds in contemporary music, Butch Walker has forged a path for the new wave of songwriter/producers.
Butch Walker is the most famous singer and producer you have probably never heard of… Often called the “musician’s musician,” he has lived in anonymity in the mainstream pop/rock world, yet amassed an underground following across the world. He has managed to be a self-supported, self-sustaining artist for more than 15 years. His music is very lyrical and has a strong base in melody.
Chances are if you haven’t heard one of his solo projects, you have heard a project that he produced or even wrote. In the documentary, Butch Walker: Out of Focus, he reiterates a question that is often asked by journalists, “Why do you give all of your hit songs away?” In which he replies, “There is a difference between a ‘hit’ song and ‘good’ song.” Butch doesn’t seem to be short on either.
His tour last year included a string of sold out shows from Anaheim to Chicago, Berlin to London, Walker lived up to the quote, "There are two types of people in this world: People who love Butch Walker and those who merely haven’t heard of him."
