Causai's long affair with Psytrance started in the summer of 2002, when he got invited to go to an after hours in Vancouver. There he experienced this sound and the vibe of the psy tribe for the first time and instantly fell in love with it. Ensued a long summer of psytrance outdoor parties and friday nights at Organix, where he started to get his influences from some of local DJs like Zorin, Willow, Goa Pete, Derek Michael and Chris Schmidt. It is not long after, in the winter of 2003, that Causai started forging his own style and picking up skills on the mixer! Seeing that the scene was lacking in parties during the winter, Causai and two of his friends (Alex and Marc) created Psicotik with one purpose only, introduce the Vancouver scene to diverse sounds of Psychedelica , ranging from Minimal to Dark and anything in between. The first party was a success and the Psicotik family grew to throw memorable indoor events, outdoor festivals and parties.
He performed in parties and festivals for over a decade now, sharing the floor with the likes of Chromatone, Shiva Jorg, Domino, Space Tribe, NRS, Random, Aya, Kode Six, SPC and Brethren to name a few.
Originally from Montreal, Mike, AKA Causai has brought a fresh vibe, and unique style to the psytrance scene around Canada. His sets are twilight, full on power psychedelic trance, deep, dark ambience with some of the tightest mixing you'll hear. Highly influenced by the Twilight sound hailing from South Africa, his DJ set are known to be highly energetic and are always sure to light up a storm on the dancefloor. He is now working on perfecting his sound for his live project called PsyCoSys and always like to throw some of his own tracks in the mix!
