Indian Summer
Ted Brown, B-Side Players & Raquel Rodriguez

One evening, three friends got together for an evening of delicious food and casual conversation. Being that all three met at Berklee College of Music in Boston, a dessert of "jam" was bound to happen. And in the hours of that music is where Indian Summer began. Summer Mencher and Jon Lall have been individual singer-songwriters for years. Sometimes they would play shows together, and inevitably play some songs together. Their duets consistently spark interest among their fans, and of course, to each other as well. But coming from different musical styles made it a bit of a challenge writing together. Enter long time friend Toby Karlin, who brings a wealth of musical skill and a fresh perspective. The three began writing music that felt effortless to make, and refreshingly new. Recently adding another close friend and brilliant guitarist Sara Carter, Indian Summer is still growing in every way. We invite you to be a part of the story.

B-Side Players
The New B*Side Players Album Revolutionize is the highly anticipated 10th release from the San Diego based world music heavy weights. Revolutionize is an organic latin funk blend of reggae, cumbia and Soul with a conscious message of unity and liberation. The new record features legendary percussionist Poncho Sanchez, guitarist Raul Pacheco of Ozomatli and Drummer Ryan Moran of Slightly Stoopid. The B*Side Players have been laying down their own inimitable latin global funk since they came together in 1994. Their incendiary live shows have defined them as local favorites with 10 San Diego Music awards.

Meanwhile their albums showcase a band with restless musical intelligence, effortlessly blending genres to fashion their own forward looking, latin flavored soul music.  As an eight piece band the players are known for igniting crowds with their fierce rhythms and uplifting message of unity and consciousness. Meanwhile always keeping their focus on the political climate of the world and nation. The B-Side Players are a living and breathing cultural art experience for the mind body and soul. B*Side Players have toured and shared the stage with James Brown, The Wailers, WAR, Sheila E, Slightly Stoopid, Toots & The Maytalls, Ben Harper, Calle 13, & Poncho Sanchez.

Raquel Rodriguez
Inspired by the likes of Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Adele, among others, Raquel Rodriguez has distinguished herself as a rising star in the competitive L.A. music scene. An alumnus of L.A.’s highly prestigious Hamilton High School Academy of Music, in 2009, Rodriguez auditioned for and gained entrance into one of the most selective jazz studies programs in the nation - USC’s famed Thornton School of Music. In the spring of 2012, Raquel successfully received her B.M., Music Industry degree with a minor in Jazz Studies. Raquel plays with a 6-piece backing band, The Big Guys, comprised of many of her classmates from Thornton’s Jazz Studies department. All members of the group are accomplished in their own right; in combination with the voice, interpretive talent and charisma of Raquel, they are a force.

Since forming almost two years ago, the group has performed at some of the top venues in Southern California, including the Roxy, Key Club and the House of Blues. Most recently, the band has opened for hip-hop superstars J. Cole and Big Sean at the A.S.I. Hip-Hop and Comedy Fest hosted by CSU-Los Angeles and played at the Carmel Arts & Film Festival. Most notably, Raquel and her band won the nationwide 2012 College Battle of the Bands. As a result, they recorded Raquel’s original piece, “Already Beat” with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Scheps at the renowned Village Studios in Los Angeles. After releasing her 6-song self-titled EP in January of 2012, Raquel and company are hard at work putting together their first full-length album, which will feature all new original material penned by the singer herself. Release and ensuing tour information can be found at RqlRod.com.
