Funk Agenda

From the early roots of his West Midland’s studio, to pioneering releases through reputed major labels, Funkagenda’s stamp on dance music can be felt across Europe, North, Central & South America, the Middle East, Australia, Russia and Japan. A devoted passion for music, alongside an embrace of technology, has fortified Funkagenda as a vanguard of the ‘tough but melodic big room house sound’ .

Originally championed by Positiva, Subliminal, Defected, Azuli and Big Love, Funkagenda is now creative commander of Funk Farm, as well as being a key member of the iconic Toolroom Records. The Funkagenda/Mark Knight partnership has become a formidable force across international territories.

Winning both the Ibiza DJ ‘Best Ibiza Track 2008’ and the Beatport ‘Best Tech House Track 2008’ award for his Man With The Red Face collaboration with Mark Knight, Funkagenda was also presented with the Ibiza DJ ‘Best Newcomer 2008’ and Dj Mag best break trough artist 2009 awards for his solo achievements. Authenticity and originality are his trademark, establishing Funkagenda a solid reputation as a innovative DJ/producer.

Funkagenda’s sound attracts musical partnerships a spectrum of genres, remixing artists including Basement Jaxx, Moby, Fat Boy Slim and Dirty Vegas. His production contributions to the Black Eyed Peas album ‘The E.N.D.’ were further recognised by an ‘Album of the Year’ nomination and a ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ award at the 52nd Annual Grammy’s.

Funkagenda’s first solo album was released on Toolroom Records in October ‘09 under the Toolroom Knights banner, consolidating a growing portfolio of success. Since the dominoes started to fall, Funkagenda has been a firmly fixed name across global music charts, regularly achieving Beatport No1 and Top 10 positions.

But in essence, Funkagenda’s deeply personal DJ sets and production have built the boy from the Black Country a rising international fan base. Accumulating fierce support both on and off the dance floor, from industry to individuals, Funkagenda continues to charge across the battlefields of dance; as a DJ, a producer and a fervent contributor to the world of music.

EC Twins
Marc and Allister Blackham, also known as the “EC Twins”, initially immersed themselves into the house music scene in Edinburgh, Scotland at age 16. They quickly evolved from flyer boys to running Edinburgh’s most successful club: Eye Candy. The twins excelled, drawing in crowds and keeping Eye Candy packed to capacity night after night as talented DJs. The name Eye Candy stuck, as they are still known around the world as the EC Twins.

In 2005, the EC Twins decided it was time to make one last attempt in bringing house music to Los Angeles, despite its lack of popularity on the West Coast. Starting from the ground up, the EC Twins began developing a dedicated local fan base, funneling all of their finances into their music and performances around town. After years of struggling and finding themselves virtually homeless, the EC Twins finally proved to L.A. that they could pack any club, underground to A-list.

Today, the EC Twins are L.A.’s highest drawing and most in demand house music DJ’s. Performing as the opening act for artists including the Black Eyed Peas, Gym Class Heroes, Avenged Sevenfold, Shaggy, and Avril Levine, the EC Twins learned how to pump up any type of crowd by projecting incredibly contagious energy. They continue to play at festivals such as the Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and the Winter Music Conference. They have current residencies at New York’s Lavo, Las Vegas’ Marquee and Miami’s Liv. Their talent and reputation has transformed the Hollywood party scene with their “Electronic Boutique” at top Los Angeles nightclubs including Guys and Dolls, Eden and Drais Hollywood.

The EC Twins have proved to the world that they are landmarks in the electronic scene, not only as well respected DJ’s, but also highly sought out producers. The talented duo have achieved top 10 success with their remix of Andy Caldwell’s “Scream” and a remix of Second Sun & Paul Harris’s “Doing It Well”, which outsold the original 8:1. The EC Twins & Remy Le Duc "Say Yes" featuring Shakeh EP is available on iTunes and quickly hit the top 40 on the Beatport Progressive House Charts. Their remix, with Remy Le Duc, of David Garcia & High Spies "All Here Now" Featuring Sarah Tancer also broke the top 10 on Billboard's Dance charts, again with thanks to THE EC TWINS remix sales trumping those of the original, attesting to the world they The EC Twins are here to stay! the EC Twins continually work hard to pave the way for house music on a global scale and with a hugely anticipated remix of the Grammy award winning Dirty Vegas' "Little White Doves", a new release on Paul Oakenfolds PERFECTO records through Armin Van Burrens ARMADA and even more original releases and big name remixes lined up before the years out, the evidence clearly supports The EC Twins rise through the ranks of electronic music aristocracy has only just begun to heat up!
