Solwave (pronounced "soul wave") is an energetic dance rock band hailing from San Francisco, California. The band is a well-rounded and well-practiced outfit who boast a multitude of musical styles that create a simultaneously soulful and groovy rock experience. Taking a cue from genre-blending artists like Muse and The Killers, Solwave fuses elements of pop, funk, rock and electronica to create complex and transient ballads which contain both expert musicianship and raw passion. The band manages to infuse aspects of many different styles of music while maintaining a signature, identifiable sound. Solwave is known for their exciting and powerful live performances as well their meticulous songwriting.
While the band known as Solwave has only been together for roughly two years, the formation of this exciting set of musicians was conceived in 2005. Lead singer and songwriter, Joe Collins, was a sophomore in high school when he decided to engage brothers, Danny (bass) and Tommy Ferdon (guitar), in a progressive metal band called Mirage. The band went through a number of transformations and drummers before striking gold in 2011 with drummer, Moise Seri.
For much of the band’s young existence they remained cooped up in their practice space in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, where they wrote and refined their sound. It wasn’t until December of 2011 when Solwave began hitting the local venues on a regular basis. Since then the band has gained infectious momentum with each San Francisco show. On August 31st, 2012, Solwave sold out Bottom Of The Hill in their first, and headlining, appearance at the critically acclaimed concert venue. Solwave also recently finished touring the release of their single, “Voodoo at High Noon”, and their recent EP, Out of the Mayhem.
The Trophy Fire

After the release of their first record "A Lifetime in the Middle of the Ocean," and tours with influences and mentors Far and Dredg, they put out a new EP "Armor."
