Zedd & Nicky Romero

Zedd

Zedd, being born into a family of musicians, began playing the piano at the age of four. After several years of learning to master the piano, Anton began playing the drums in a band, and composed and produced numerous rocksongs in his band’s own studio. In 2009 he began producing electronic clubmusic, to much and quick acclaim. After a period of only few months he attained a remarkable level and participated in Beatport’s “Armand Van Helden / Strictly Rhythm Remix Contest”, which he went on to win. This opened up a number of new possibilities for Zedd, and only shortly after, he won his second contest on Beatport, the “Fatboy Slim / Skint Remix Contest”! This was the foundation for several cooperations with artists such as Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Skrillex, Fatboy Slim, Armand Van Helden and labels like mau5trap, Interscope, Atlantic, Strictly Rhythm or Skint Records. His first release “The Anthem” entered the Beatport charts top 20, and even made it to the second place of Track It Down charts. His remix for Skrillex’ ‘Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites’, released on ‘mau5trap recordings’ climbed up the charts to #4 on Beatport and #2 on Beatport’s Electro House charts. One of the reasons for this rapid development is undoubtedly Zedd’s unique and highly recognizable style of composition. It stands out as very detailed and carefully produced Electro House, very playful and the same time remarkably catchy. Zedd is definitely an artist to look out for in the future…

Nicky Romero

Read, listen, or experience any of Nicky Romero’s interviews and you will hear one commonphrase reiterate from the Dutchman’s mouth “Hard Work.” That core belief brought uponNicky’s meteoric rise to international fame in a flourishing, yet oversaturated ElectronicDance Music market. At the age of 6, in the small town of Amerongen, Holland, NickyRomero first discovered his innate talent for music as a drummer, specifically the snare, inhis local marching band. From there, history unfolded in Nicky’s favor as he set himself on acourse not only to fulfill his dreams of musical stardom, but as an all-encompassingDJ/Producer.

To transition from song to song, possibly with some flair and effect is one piece of the puzzle, but at age 23 Nicky has proved himself not only behind the decks, but also in the studio. As amultifaceted musician, Romero’s daring productions have taken him into the studio with thelikes of the worlds most sought after electronic and hip-hop acts like David Guetta, Tiesto,Avicii, Sydney Samson, Kelly Rowland, Eva Simmons, Usher, Madonna, and a mentorshipunder the famed Fedde Le Grand. Additionally, Romero has had his productions released under the industry’s most coveted labels such as Spinnin’, Fly Eye, Toolroom, FlamingoMusical Freedom, and Interscope. However, Romero’s hard work can be traced back to hisfirst releases under the small independent label ‘Once Records’. From there, Romero beganto churn out tracks, each with a unique, enticing, yet innovating sound that captured theworld’s most discerning ears. A sound that breathes progressive, but as of lately adapts amore electro-acidic feel, Romero has proved he is as versatile as any of his counterparts. Hisremix of Green Velvet’s “Flash” seized the CDJs of DJs’ sets on nearly every festival circuit in 2011.

Thus far, 2012 has been a year emblematic of a world’s top-tier DJ. Aside “Wild One Two”,the anthemic collaboration with David Guetta and Sia under the newly established recordlabel Jack Back, Nicky has released countless other dance floor juggernauts such as “Toulouse”, “Generation 303”, and “Camorra”. Unlike like many other producers, each ofRomero’s releases reasserts the claim that he is here to stay. After frequenting the festivalcircuit, such as Ultra in Miami and Energy in the Netherlands, Nicky is set to play atElectronic Zoo in New York, Tomorrowland in Belgium, and will continue his residency at theprestigious Marquee club in Las Vegas.
