With a background in piano, guitar, and drums, 3LAU's beginnings were in indie, but a trip to Sweden in the summer of 2011 opened his eyes to the world of house music. After producing for only a year, 3LAU’s achievements include the #1 remix in Tiesto's “Work Hard, Play Hard” remix competition, a top 10 beatport release on the progressive charts, and slots at Electric Zoo, Global Dance Fest, Spring Awakening and Camp Bisco. FratMusic named 3LAU as its official House DJ and he has received critical acclaim from top blogs ThisSongisSick, GoodMusicAllDay and Earmilk as well as EDM influencers R3hab, Porter Robinson, and James Egbert. 3LAU is a 20 year old House/Mashup/Remix producer from Las Vegas, Nevada. 3LAU began producing dance music as a finance major at Washington University in St.Louis with dreams of traveling to perform for endless dancing crowds. Citing Deadmau5, Steve Angello, Wolfgang Gartner, Porter Robinson, Avicii, and Burial as his key influences, 3LAU strives to combine his talents of DJing, producing, and singing to penetrate an emerging genre, post-progressive house.
3LAU's credentials in just 7 months of production are undeniable. Currently, he is FratMusic.com's official house DJ. His most notable bootlegs "Girls Who Save the World," "Dubsex," "Yacht Week in America," and "All Night Long" have hit 4th, 2nd, 5th and 32nd respectively on Hypem’s top 50 with a total of over 11000 favorites. He has also received critical acclaim from Tiesto, achieving the #1 ranked remix in Tiesto's Work Hard, Play Hard remix competition.
The young EDM star has come quite a ways, but from these initial stages, has much more to conquer.
