It was announced today Metallica will stop at Vancouver's Rogers Arena on Friday, August 24th. Ticket releases will go on sale Friday, May 25th at 10AM. Metallica will perform their catalogue of hits amidst a mind-blowing 360-degree stage that needs to be seen to be believed. This 140x50-foot stage will feature colossal components and striking visual elements spanning Metallica's entire 30-year career. "Our rabid Canadian fans will love this sick as fuck, over the top, out of control stage that will be the cornerstone of our touring escapades for the next years to come," said Metallica's Lars Ulrich. "Don't be scared boys and girls, this is going next level."
Metallica Formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, Metallica (www.metallica.com) have become one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 100 million albums worldwide and playing to millions of fans the world over. Metallica recently celebrated its 30th anniversary as a band last month, performing four shows at the Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco, CA, exclusively for members of their fan club, the Metallica Club. They released the Beyond Magnetic EP via digital retailers on December 13, 2011 after giving the songs away to their fan club members. A CD version of the Beyond Magentic EP was released on January 31, 2012.
