Messer started writing late July 2009. With only a hand full of shows since then, the Dallas, Texas group has raised the attention of industry and fans alike by the lightning fast rise of popularity, locally and nationally. Although some bands prefer not to be compared to anyone, Messer finds that fans of Soundgarden’s candor, Velvet Revolver’s swagger and the grind of Motley Crue’s music are taking notice. Their music can be described as a nod to the 90’s, with their roots firmly planted in the present while still honing their original sound for 2011 and beyond.
Messer’s industry buzz is not only from popularity of their former bands and live stage show, but from a cult following of their major motion pictures and reality show castings. This is a band that thinks outside the box and nothing is impossible and everything is attainable if you have the desire.
Some of their highlights have been winning The House of Blues 2009 Talent Showcase, appeared on CBS11 “All Jacked Up”, currently being played on 97.1 The Eagle, 106 The Bear, Power 103, placed 2nd in the international “Open for KISS” competition 2010 out of 100 bands, and was main support for George Lynch, Ugly Mustard, Arms of the Sun, Dokken and FLAW.
As of 2011 they have inked a deal with Firebowl Records International and are in full swing of releasing their long awaited debut full length album after their very successful EP's "Dead Awake" (2010) and "Just Like Angels" (2011)
As of June 1st Messer's song "Simple Man" will be on regular rotation in Casper, WY on 100.5 Kted Casper, 93.7 Kazy Cheyenne, 104.5 KHAD Gillette, 98.7 Kaaz Laramie, 101.1 Krow Cody and 102.3 Wier in Burlington, Vermont. Together this somewhat of a local super group raised the attention of the music scene by first naming their band Shitfaced as a publicity stunt. Little did they know it got them more attention than they thought. Secondly, they booked their first show at The House of Blues Talent Showcase and won. Their $1000 prize money went to a 4 song demo before their second show at House of Blues opening for national act Earshot.
