Saturday, December 31, 2011 Mark Martin Events & Promotions, Brooks and Davis Events and The LiveWire Agency will present “Harlem Nights NYE” – A 1920’s Casino Affair. The event is a red-carpet New Year’s Eve bash embodying the classic style, glitz and glamour of Eddie Murphy’s silver screen comedy classic Harlem Nights.
Loved for its legendary comedy stars (Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Della Reese, Robin Harris, Arsenio Hall and Charlie Murphy), Harlem Nights’ cool speakeasy-casino theme and old New York mobster plot, made it a household movie name that nostalgically touches the core of the urban adult market.
Riding the familiarity and undying popularity of Harlem Nights and emulating the 1920’s Harlem Renaissance style of the film, “Harlem Nights NYE” brings the motion picture to life and allows party-goers to ring in the New Year with class, vintage style, over-the-top-fun and a celebration of a never-forgotten era.
Attendees will enter via red carpet, the two-tiered, lush and vintage interior of Isis Houston (located in Downtown Houston), featuring two live DJs, an un upper-level casino floor, a lower-level NYE party, flashing cameras, sexy burlesque dancers, larger-than-life Harlem Renaissance portraits, plenty of champagne and cocktails, and a large balloon drop at midnight.
By fusing the exciting elements of an old-world casino, new-world music, dramatic atmosphere, vintage 1920’s costume, red carpet glam and the promise of an exciting new year, “Harlem Nights NYE” is sure to be the most glamorous way for Houston to celebrate 2012.
