DJ Tre started his career as a teenager in Seattle’s vibrant music scene. In his 16 year career, in addition to rocking dancefloors up and down the West Coast, he has received acclaim as a DMC champ, been tapped by sponsors like Soy Clothing, and worked with some of the Northwest’s most respected performers. Influenced by such people/acts as: Jam Master Jay, Jazzy Jeff, Joe Cooley, DJ Cash Money, Grand Master Flash, Q-Bert, ShortKut,Mix Master Mike, Craze, A-Trak, Beat Junkies, Roc Raider, and Rob Swift; it’s easy to see how he has come to master mixing sounds and techniques to become one of the Northwest’s most notable exports!
In 2000 Tre was the official DJ for the hip-hop group Boom Bap Project. He was featured on the Boom Bap Project Album released that year, Circumstance Dictates. With Boom Bap Project, DJ Tre traveled all over the US and Canada performing at such noteable events as SXSW, NXNE and Bumbershoot. He also had the priveledge to perform with the likes of Mos Def, Dilated Peoples and Jurassic 5. As the official DJ for Boom Bap Project, Tre was a part of the Fantastic Four Tour, a yearly outing that brings together four of the hottest independent groups from around the country.
In 2003 Tre was nominated as best DJ/Turntablist in the 1st Annual Seattle Weekly Music Awards. That same year, he was also featured in the Seattle Times for the Bumbershoot DJ battle. Tre was also featured on Isangmahal's Filipino dj documentary, Phonographix. From 2004 to 2006, Tre kept busy; Competing in DMC DJ Battles from Las Vegas to NYC and back home to Seattle, he placed in all and brought home 1st in many.
