BIGSTUFF, aka Greg Campbell first achieved national fame on the music scene with his now legendary Canadian hip-hop group “Organized Rhyme” where he and partner Tom Green garnered much critical acclaim including a Canadian Music Award and Juno nomination in the early 90‘s.
BIGSTUFF the producer came into his own in Vancouver soon after working with Canadian and international artists such as The PMan, Vic Vodka, Ice T, Nate Dogg & Kurupt, to name a few. Always pushing the envelope and further developing his abilities and musical repertoire, Greg went on to launch “Mr. BIGSTUFF and the BIGSTUFF Production”, an 8-10 piece electro funk rock band he fronted and led to popularity as one of the most successful Vancouver bands in the late 90’s and early millennium with television appearances and successful radio competitions where Greg himself took home top prize among more than 50 bands for best performer.
Called back to the lab by numerous artists for his unique and complete production abilities, BIGSTUFF continued to help launch and further careers in the music industry such as those of the internationally acclaimed band Stinkmitt (http://www.myspace.com/stinkmitt
) for whom he acted as both producer and band-mate, going on to tour with them throughout Canada, The US, Europe and sharing the stage with Peaches, The Gossip, Har-Mar Superstar, Nashville Pussy. He helped deliver some of the freshest music Canada has produced in recent years.
With many songs licensed to film and television and his feet and studio now firmly planted back in his home town of Ottawa, BIGSTUFF has added yet another facet to an already illustrious career as that of one of the regions most talented, unique and diverse DJ’s.
Known for his distinctive and dirty electronic beats and heavy drum sound accompanied by sometimes twisted and always fantastic melodies and harmonies, BIGSTUFF has made a name for himself as one of the fastest growing talents behind the decks with gigs at Ottawa’s legendary Heaven Nightclub, Ritual, and The Clarendon to name a few. Depending in the event, BIGSTUFF is known to have one of the most diverse collections of music and will master any format he lays his hands on. Working with multiple clubs in Ontario he is a member and co-founder of Ottawa’s most notable DJ agency The Sound Syndicate, representing 16 of the most talented and sought after DJ’s in the area as well as a DJ School for kids, and a new online label Sound Syndicate Recordings. http://www.bigstuffproductions.com
Like most DJs of his calibre, RYANL has always been passionate about music. At a young age he dove into the art form with infamous hip/hop mixtapes taking local house parties to the limit. At age 17 Ryan got his first taste of the afterhours scene and was taken to a new high with the sound of Trance. This fast paced electronic genre quickly led him deeper into the craft of developing sets and mixing music. With a diploma in computer engineering, Ryan quickly adopted the newly introduced digital mixing that was slowly making its mark on the scene. Apart from the unquenchable love for music, the electronic dance scene offered something that Ryan as a person and a DJ truly believes in, a philosophy of open minded thinking. Influenced by such masters as Armin Van Buuren, and Ferry Corsten, RyanL knew he'd found his home and occupation behind the decks and serving the dance floor.
It's been nearly 7 years that Ryan has been taking his DJ sets all over his hometown of Ottawa, Ontario, through all the big and small venues the city has to offer. MTL & Co was the club that took Ryan under its wing and provided him his first residency but it wouldn't be long until his skills were in high demand all over the city. Major events including Beach Club, Bomba Fashion show, and local celebrity afterparties such as that of Mario Lopez and Lady Gaga have all helped shape his experience. With Gigs in London, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Bangkok and Hong Kong under his belt, Ryan continues to evolve and incorporate new experiences and sounds into his own distinct sets. A member of the already renowned Sound Syndicate team, he currently holds a weekly residency with Guess Canada at one of their flagship locations as well as Peterboroughs Splice nightclub.
In 2010, Ryan will be spending time in Mexico shadowing two very prominent producers Ansuz & Kromatic as well as Vancouver to focus on working with another up and coming producer, Right Hand Barber. Always seeking out opportunities to take his talent to the level, keep your eyes and ears open for events and tours happening in these major cities as well as other stops around the globe. http://www.ryanl.com
