Fur and the Glow party held on Saturday is a great way to end the weekend. There is a dress code however and expect to wait in lines (there are usually at least three - general admission, VIP, and table VIP. Expect an even longer wait on big headliners!! The club is beautiful consisting of cat-walks and VIP lounge, wood floors, multiple bars and louge areas; however, there is an air of importance and it seems as though the crowd lacks in manners as everyone is looking to be "the most important". Instead of pushing the limits with the volume - the huge speakers run at an estimated 30% - or something less than adequate for a club that size!! The dance floor is huge, but to be able to talk over world-famous DJs and producers, it seems kinda a waste to have the sound system they do!! Dancers occationally shake their "groove thang" on speakers in the main dance area and above the bars (VIP) and other lounges. They are obviously untrained and a little cheesy for my taste. I haven't heard of ANY woman's appreciation for them - although, some of the single men seemed entertained. The club gets in wonderful talent - not so much local talent though - be prepared to hear residents spin at ALL events for all genres of music. Fur has good bartenders and a very posh atmosphere. They also have some of the best lighting I have seen in DC (bravo)!! The dancers are cheesy, the lines a bit too long, the crowd a bit too pushy and self-important. I would recommend Fur/Glow but would warn against it's strict dress-code and remember, don't bring in mints or gum or anything else but your money and ID - their "frisk" is pretty picky and gum is a no-no.
