Will NEVER again return to Republic. Spent 1hr in "guest list" line-up. Rediculous cover charge at $21. $5 for coat check!!! WTF ever happened to just a tip for coat check? $10 drinks, way too over crowded, pretentious crowd, music sucked. Oh, and they refused to accept 4 quarters to pay for the $21 cover charge. This place sucked soooo bad. Will never go back.

I am always impressed when I go to Republic. The crowd is always top notch, the music on the weekends is great and the bartenders are hot! Danced the night away this weekend. Sunday's are by far the best night, Retroift is a rockin band!

I love what the DHM group provides Vancouver. Great staff, wonderful atmosphere and the best entertainment talent in the city! Make sure to get there early as it gets busy quick. Also try to get upstairs as soon as possible as it's hard to get up there once it's packed

Went last night (saturday). Not Impressed. Got there with VIP reservations, still waited an hour to get in. Poorly designed entrance way, took another 15-20min just to take our coats and cover. Apparently the wait outside is pretty common due to the bottlenecking that occurs in the entranceway. I''ve heard good things about the music - but the DJ was all over the place, couldn''t play a song for more than a minute - actually counted 5 songs within 2 min. And, the songs were pretty muddled into each other. The other 6 people with me thought the same thing. Perhaps it was just an off night. The decor and atmosphere of the club is fine. A place that you can actually dress up and still be ok -although I did see people in jeans and sneakers there as well. The crowd was a mix of ages, but probably leaned towards the older than 25 crowd. Too bad about the difficulty getting in and the poor music -
