Easily one of my favorite places to cool out. The perfect sized venue for an intimate feel. Great decor with good lighting. The music consistently works the room and the hot crowd without all the little kiddies is a bonus. Mix it all up and the result is a great atmosphere.

People go to Ginger62 for the ambience. The decor and atmosphere is very intimate and cozy. Drinks and food are okay. Ladies room has a cute chalkboard wall you can write notes on. Music and people are fantastic, very friendly, mature and urbane. A definite must go.

Overall: It's a pretty average club for Downtown. The bouncers do a pretty good job keeping the line under control. They let in lots of hot ladies so the ratio is always good. Once you are inside the drink prices are not as bad as Republic or other "Granville" bars and the music is good and the crowd is friendly. It's a good mix of people, so you're not likely to feel as out of place as you might at other clubs. The atmosphere is great and the club layout is nice, with couches and tables. While the club layout is nice, there are a couple spots in the bar where the traffice usually gets pretty thick, which happens at most bars so it's not really that big of a negative.

This used to be one of my favorite places in Van. I''ve always visited Ginger on every single visit to Van. Until tonight!!!! Not only was i embaressed for me, my friends but for my connection! He saved us a table and invited us but when we arrived we were rejected by door staff who claimed that management made a call "that there was NO WAY we were coming in". Simply, it was discrimination! What ever it was based on! I will not judge! May it be the way we were dressed, sexism, racism or what ever you call it! And i understand that every establishment has their rules and policies. But for every rule or policy, there are always exceptions! It did put a very sour taste in our mouths! Operating our own club in Calgary, we would never, never have and never will operate a business in this matter!

Worst lounge ever. Total nightmare. line up s in rain , when went in, there were only 5 people inside.. Means they were creating the hype by all those big line ups in the freaking rain. Cover charge $20, and coat check gal straight off asked for the TIP.. yh! on our face, & said coat check is mandatory. Drinks and food took forever, waitress came after 45mins+ with food and guilty as she was, she said "sorry, please consider it on the house, kitchen is really busy" .. we saw no one else eating other then us, but it was free so dint give the second thought to if kitchen was busy or not. Bill arrived with all items charged, we mentioned that contact our waitress that certain items were on the house, they dint listen to us, luckily our waitress jumped it & clarified the list but the lounge''s nerd manger came & without listening to whats going on, or what everyone is talking about, he was like "you have to pay the whole bill, else i''ll call the cops.".. F man, he was not even making sense. He was total crap BS, I think he should be Fired, the person who judges people by race or have no sense of business and talking., should not be a manger. I hope the waitress is not fired that night. I''ll rate this venue as "POOR". worst experience ever. my first and the LAST visit. I''ve heard so much worst about this place, I don''t know why I still went there.. my bad.!
