I love the place. Awesome people, most of the bartenders are so nice and the bouncers can be assholes but when you need them they kick ass. Ya it may be 2 small but you meet more people because you get to apologize for steppin on their toe....which can strike up a good conversation which can lead to kissing....then if lucky you can get laid! haha

INTRO: Tequila is a sprawling nightclub on 17th ave, open from 8pm to 2am 4 days a week and all week long during Stampede. With a capacity of about 500 people and sitting on at least 3 million dollars worth of prime commercial real estate, they're obviously doing pretty well - and why not, its an AWESOME venue! CLUB LAYOUT: Tequila is a club for MEETING PEOPLE and HOOKING UP. The venue is broken into at least 8 separate rooms including 2 large outdoor patios and a sort of "attic" chill-out lounge. Loud areas for dancing, quiet areas for talking, cool areas for chilling, and dark areas for um ...chilling - they've got everything covered. THE CROWD: Tequila clearly targets the 18 to 25 year old crowd. Thursdays are slow, Fridays are busy, and Saturdays are INSANE. If you're planning on going on a Saturday, plan to ARRIVE by 9:00pm or you'll find yourself waiting an hour in line and may not make it into the club at all. Even if you're a girl. DRESS CODE: The dress code is pretty standard: "MAKE AN EFFORT" -if you look like a scrub, a thug, or a bum, you're not getting in ...and no sneakers. Other than that, you're good to go! ID POLICY: Tequila, like most Calgary clubs, has an extremely strict ID policy. They card everyone - even if you're thirty - and if you don't have valid government issued photo ID, you're NOT getting in. Alberta residents can use their driver's license. If you're from out-of-province, it would be a good idea to bring SEVERAL pieces of ID. Tourists can enter using their passport. DANCEFLOOR: Tequila plays Top 40, Rap, and R&B, with the odd country song thrown in. The DJs adjust the music mix for the crowd on any given night. If the crowd reacts well to it, they'll play it. Beware that the dancefloor area in Tequila is VERY, VERY LOUD - if you're planning on spending the night dancing, bring earplugs or risk permanant hearing damage. OVERALL: A fantastic venue with a great vibe. Definitely worth checking out!

well, I just moved here to Calgary from Saskatoon, and I must say Tequila's is by far the best bar that I've been to in a while, and it sure did pack up quick, mind you didn't matter, we were already loaded by abouts 8:45 pm. $1 drinks till 10:00, definately going back, definately referring the nightclub, definately gotta get myself a VIP ;)

Tequila is fun... if your lucky enough to get in. I think some of the bouncers tend to lean towards letting their friends in first of those who are scantily clad. For example I was in line for about an hour, and the bouncer noticed a group of about six people behind me drinking liquor from pepsi bottles, he came up to them and said they couldn't do that. But then upon a couple flirty responses from the ladies in the group he directed them to the VIP entrance. I think it is a great club and I always have fun there (cause I learn to go VERY early now) I just believe that the bouncers should use a little better judgement.

This place has cheap drinks, great bartenders and courteous bouncers. That being said, I'm not sure why the atmosphere is so bad. The clientele is very rough and the interior is old and dirty. I won't go back even if the drinks are the cheapest around.

Pretty average...the bouncers weren't that friendly, they were just standing around talking despite the fact that they'd seen us there and there was no line, they just left us waiting for a while until finally one of them let us in. The crowd was pretty weak - mostly just skeezy guys and slutty girls. The music wasn't great either, average stuff but weird remixes. Pretty much a miss.

Definatly a place for underagers, and the younger imature gangster crowd. If you have any sense of class or maturity, trust me, you would wanna avoid this kinda place. Skip out on this completetly, check out Tantra, Mynt, and Coyotes to see what your flavour is...
