QUEEN ELIZABETH THEATRE DESCRIPTION Built in 1959 by the City of Vancouver, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre is the home of Vancouver Opera and Ballet British Columbia. The 70 foot wide proscenium arch stage is the perfect multi-purpose venue for Broadway shows, pop and rock concerts, opera and dance, as well as live broadcast gala award ceremonies and telethons. Located across from the main post office at Hamilton and Georgia Street. There is parking located below the theatre (around $5.50 evenings). The entrance is from Cambie Street. Also there is a parking lot across street on Cambie (by old bus depot). There is no longer a parking area on the corner of Hamilton and Georgia Street.
