Named after the original proprietor from 1905 and located  just off of vibrant Davie Street and stepas away from gorgeous English Bay Beach. it's the historic gem, Maxine's Hideaway - Vancouver's only cabaret restaurant and lounge.

This large, turn of the century, villa-style restaurant and lounge is one of Vancouver's most unique nightlife venues.  The owners, a passionate husband and wife team, have created an experience reminiscent of a Parisian cabaret offering an inviting, warm space combined with delicious food and world class live entertainment.  Fabric-draped archways soften the hard character of the brick walls.  Dimly-lit cabaret tables and booth seating all have an excellent view of the cabaret stage. The menu can be described as West Coast with Asian influence.  They probably don't brag enough about their menu, they just simply focus on quality and flavour.  And Maxine's has one of the only classic, wood-burning ovens in Vancouver and all the pizzas and breads are freshly baked. 

Speaking of quality, Maxine's live shows are the creation of the 'wife half' of the husband and wife team.  Leigh Torlage, a former New York dancer/choreographer.  The leader in sexy song & dance in Vancouver Leigh has been on staff @ Harbour Dance Centre since 1996 and is choreographer to many film and TV projects.  Leigh created The Candy Girl Cabaret for Maxine's.  The Candy Girl Cabaret is a group of beautiful, talented, girls who sing and dance in the style of Broadway Burlesque. The show is slick, snappy, classy, flirty, fun and sexy presented in 4 sets over a period of approximately an hour and 1/2.  A variety of performers are onstage in any given show as they are all busy, working professionals in the film and TV/live theatre industries.

Leigh's newest show, Candy ROCK Cabaret, is a theatrical, edgy, gritty rock n roll experience.  Imagine your all time, favourite, classic rock songs brought to life by Vancouver's hottest singers and dancers in an ultimate, classic rock, epic fantasy that pushes buttons, boundaries and limits.
