A converted 19th-century courthouse, this popular Saturday night-only nightclub boasts a sophisticated setting. With four fireplaces, clusters of cozy sofas and lots of dimly lit corners, it’s possible to have an intimate conversation here. But as the evening progresses, you’ll have to shout your sweet nothings over the Saturday CHUM-FM dance party. Upstairs on the cozy mezzanine level, club-goers sip mixed drinks ($5.75) while observing the dance floor below. Three separate bars are well-stocked with dishy bartenders, who serve plenty of cosmopolitans ($11.50) and bottles of Stella Artois and Heineken ($6.25). And if you arrive just at the right time, you may spot the odd celebrity—the club plays host to film festival celebrations and, on occasion, the MuchMusic Video Awards after party.
