1315 Gallery is 750 square feet of original artistry that highlights Ottawa’s own hidden talent. Located literally “underground”, in a 4000 square foot basement, the Gallery is stationed within the walls of the Weekend Reader, a walk-in outlet of new and used books. This massive venue supports our goal to eventually realize exhibits of over 100 paintings.
1315 Gallery is focused and dedicated to displaying the works of local artists by encouraging an appreciation for, and the collection of, underground art. The Gallery’s mission is to make quality artwork available to everyone through accessibility and affordability; offering a comprehensive collection of exceptional modern, urban and contemporary underground art.
The juxtaposition of book store with art gallery cultivates an ambiance of intellectualism and creativity fostering the cross-fertilization of ideas. We encourage artists, collectors, and the curious to drop in and visit - sharing ideas and opinions is at the heart of our gallery.
