Bound to become this bar's trademark is its set of ominous, scorched wood doors, which buffer all sound between the street and the semi-speakeasy they hide. Inside, the immediate gust of age-old jazz and ice rattling in shakers dissolves into an intimate, low-lit scene. Kerosene lamps and crystal chandeliers catch on gold-flecked walls and create shadows in a scored wood ceiling. A strong attention to detail characterizes the decadent small plates, fine wines and cocktails mixed by some of the city's most respected bartenders.
