| Restaurateur Marco Pierre White & champion jockey Frankie Dettori are the odd couple behind this bling-heavy Knightsbridge restaurant where the decor boasts glitter balls & mirrored walls. Mercifully the food – pizzas & grills – is down to earth &, although some whinge about ‘jockey-sized portions & frugally topped pizzas’, we’ve always found it delicious. Spicy salami & porcini mushrooms go well together on crisp-bottomed pizzas, while steak is perfectly accompanied by light béarnaise & thin-cut fries. ‘Service lets the side down’ (to catch a waiter’s eye can be quite a challenge) & the ‘brown paper tablecloths look out of place’, but then this is a family restaurant, with prices that won’t break the piggy bank. |
