The bright neon lights of the Arcadia Theater, once again shine over lower
Greenville Ave. The 70 year-old theater returned from the dead on New Year's
Night 2000 and no doubt, has grown stronger with age. Boasting a $300,000
makeover, Liquid is now the heartbeat of
Dallas nightlife.
A deep blue Liquid
sign now hangs in place of the old theater marquee. Lots of grinded
steel and cobalt blue neon give it its hip futuristic look. Most of the newly
restored theater seats remain, allowing for plenty of seating and room to
people watch. The second floor balcony with its Italian furniture and its "VIP
Only" bar provides a retreat from the pulsated energy of the hypnotizing dance
floor. The far stage still plays host to the 50 ft. movie screen, but with use
of new L.C.D. projections, it now plays a leading role.
Over $100,000 went into repairs of the inner workings of
Liquid. Bringing a 70 yr. old building up to
code, and providing enough power for the enormous show is no easy task. This
show pumps the heart of Liquid with a
$500,000 state-of-the-art sound and lights system, which gives you more than
enough stimulation for the mind, and heart stopping excitement! |
